Edmonton based Artist + Graphic Designer
Jovi grew up on a farm near Athabasca, Alberta, where her mom’s huge garden is an inspiration. Unique patterns and colours in the outside world, especially florals, are explored in her art.
In 2017, she went on a 5 month solo trip to Thailand, Nepal and the Philippines. Inspired by henna in Nepal, Jovi began creating circular mandala-like artworks.
Now Jovi paints circular designs onto slices of wood. The wood is sourced from fallen trees on her parents’ land or gratefully received from friends and strangers. Jovi loves the entire process of creating her artworks—from cutting, sanding and sealing to painting.
